Goldstein turned the clock back to 2015 when he was a red-hot Brownlow contender, producing 34 possessions (career high), 9 clearances (equal career high), 6 inside 50s (equal career high) and 176 Supercoach points (season high). His first quarter was one of the best a player has produced this season, with 12 disposals at 100% efficiency, 6 contested possessions, 6 clearances, 9 hit outs and a tackle equating to 55 Supercoach points at the first break.

Although Goldstein set the tone for a huge North victory, does it outweigh a player that kicks a bag of 10? Brown kicked 2 goals in the first quarter followed by 4 in the second. His tally got to 9 by three quarter time, completely the 10-goal haul with one goal in the last quarter. He finished with 10 goals and one behind from 11 kicks for the match! Even though Brown was North Melbourne’s 5th lowest disposal winner on Saturday night, we’re going to pen him in for the 3 votes. Going back all the way to 2000, all but two players have received the 3 votes after kicking a bag of 10.

Tom Lynch (Adelaide) is the most recent, who only polled the 2 behind Patrick Dangerfield who had 28 possessions and 4 goals. The other on this list is Fraser ‘The G-Train’ Gehrig, who only polled 2 when Nick Riewoldt had 19 possessions, 18 marks and 3 goals.

So with 17 of the last 19 players polling 3 votes when kicking a 10-goal haul, you’ve got to feel for Todd Goldstein who will more than likely miss out on the three votes despite playing one of the best games of his career!
