Competition Terms & Conditions — "Pick the Brownlow Top 4" (2026)

1. Promoter

The Promoter is Dale Crotty and Jack Stewart, trading in partnership as Downlow on the Brownlow (ABN 14 510 232 636), of Victoria, Australia ("the Promoter", "we"). Contact: downlowonthebrownlow@gmail.com. The prize is provided by our competition partner, Tumble Coffee Roasters (tumblecoffeeroasters.com.au), who is not the Promoter and is not responsible for the conduct of the competition except prize fulfilment as set out in clause 9.

2. Agreement to these Terms

Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms & Conditions and the Promoter's Privacy Policy. Entry is free. No purchase is necessary.

3. Competition period

Entries open 9:00am AEST Monday 24 August 2026 and close 6:00pm AEST Monday 21 September 2026 ("Closing Time"). Entries received after the Closing Time will not be accepted. Times are determined by the Promoter's server records.

4. Eligibility

Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over at the time of entry. The following are ineligible: the Promoter, Tumble Coffee Roasters, their immediate families, and any person involved in determining the official Brownlow Medal count. The Promoter may require reasonable proof of age, residency and identity before awarding the prize, and may declare an entry invalid if satisfactory proof is not provided within 7 days of request.

5. How to enter — game of skill

To enter, complete the entry form at downlowonthebrownlow.com.au during the competition period by submitting: (a) your first name and email address; (b) your prediction of the top four (4) placegetters in the 2026 AFL Brownlow Medal count, in finishing order (1st through 4th); and (c) your prediction of the total number of votes polled by the Brownlow Medallist (1st place), as a whole number between 1 and 60 ("Votes Prediction"). This is a game of skill. Winning depends entirely on the accuracy of each entrant's predictions judged against the official result. Chance plays no part in determining the winner, and no random draw will be conducted at any stage.

6. One entry per person; changing your entry

One entry per person, identified by email address. An entrant may update their prediction by resubmitting the form before the Closing Time; the later submission replaces the earlier entry in full, and the entrant's recorded entry time becomes the time of the latest submission. Entry time is relevant to the tie-break in clause 8. Entries generated by scripts, bots, or multiple email addresses used by one person may be disqualified.

7. Judging

Entries are judged against the official 2026 Brownlow Medal result as announced by the AFL on the night of the count, including the Medallist's official vote tally and any countback or AFL determination of placings announced that night. Subsequent stripping, forfeiture or amendment of the medal or placings after the announcement does not affect the result of this competition. Where the AFL announces tied placings, any tied player occupying a position is treated as a correct pick for that position. Judging is completed by the Promoter within 3 business days of the count.

8. Winner determination and tie-break (skill-based, deterministic)

The winner is the single eligible entry that best predicts the result, determined by applying the following steps in order until one entry remains:

1. Most correct positions: the entry with the most placegetters predicted in the correct finishing position (0–4). A player predicted in the wrong position scores nothing;

2. 1st place: if tied, the entry that correctly predicted the Brownlow Medallist (1st);

3. 2nd place: if tied, the entry that correctly predicted 2nd place;

4. 3rd place: if tied, the entry that correctly predicted 3rd place;

5. 4th place: if tied, the entry that correctly predicted 4th place;

6. Votes Prediction: if tied, the entry whose Votes Prediction is closest to the Brownlow Medallist's official vote tally, measured by absolute difference;

7. Earliest entry: if still tied, the tied entry with the earliest recorded entry time (per clause 6) wins.

No element of chance is used at any stage. The Promoter will retain the judging record (scores, Votes Predictions and timestamps for all entries in winning contention) for 3 years.

9. Prize

One (1) prize: a Tumble Coffee Roasters prize pack, comprising: (a) a 1kg coffee blend trial pack; (b) a 12-month coffee subscription (one coffee delivery per month for 12 consecutive months); and (c) a Tumble Coffee Roasters merchandise pack, including standard delivery to an Australian delivery address. Total retail value: $1,000 (as at August 2026). The prize is not transferable, not exchangeable and not redeemable for cash. If any component of the prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoter's control, the Promoter will substitute that component with one of equal or greater value. Tumble Coffee Roasters is responsible for fulfilment and delivery of the prize; the Promoter will facilitate resolution of any fulfilment issue.

10. Winner notification and unclaimed prize

The winner will be notified by email within 5 business days of judging and announced by first name and state on the Promoter's website and social channels. The winner must confirm acceptance and provide an Australian delivery address within 14 days of notification. If the winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or does not respond within 14 days, the prize will be awarded to the next-best eligible entry under clause 8 (not by any draw), and the process repeats until the prize is awarded.

11. Publicity

The Promoter may publish the winner's first name and state for the purpose of announcing the result. Any further use of the winner's name, likeness or entry for promotional purposes will only occur with the winner's separate prior consent.

12. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, and to the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for: (a) technical failures or interrupted transmissions not caused by the Promoter; (b) late, lost or misdirected entries; (c) any act or omission of Tumble Coffee Roasters in prize fulfilment (without limiting clause 9); and (d) indirect or consequential loss. The Promoter's total liability is otherwise limited to resupply of the prize or its value.

13. Variation and cancellation

If the 2026 Brownlow Medal count is cancelled entirely and no official result is announced, the competition will be cancelled and no winner declared; entry was free and no entrant will bear any cost. If the count proceeds but is disrupted or altered, entries will be judged under clause 8 against whatever result the AFL officially announces. The Promoter's determinations of scoring under clause 8 are final, and the Promoter will respond to any entrant dispute raised within 14 days of the winner announcement.

14. Privacy, emails and your data

The Promoter collects entrants' name, email address, phone number, predictions, consent selections and timestamps to conduct the competition (administer entries, judge, and contact the winner, including by phone if email contact fails). By entering, entrants will receive competition-administration emails (entry confirmation, results, winner contact). It is a condition of entry that entrants agree to receive the Promoter's marketing emails — Brownlow predictions, analysis, offers, and occasional offers from the Promoter's partners — from which entrants may unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email. Unsubscribing does not withdraw a competition entry.

Only where the entrant has separately opted in on the entry form, the entrant's name and email will be shared with Tumble Coffee Roasters so Tumble Coffee Roasters can send the entrant its own offers and promotions; Tumble Coffee Roasters is a separate sender and provides its own unsubscribe. Ticking that box is optional and does not affect the entry. If the winner has not opted in, the winner's name and delivery address will be shared with Tumble Coffee Roasters solely for prize delivery. Unsubscribing from the Promoter's emails does not retract data already shared with Tumble Coffee Roasters — see the Privacy Policy for how to opt out of Tumble Coffee Roasters' emails or request deletion.

Entrant data is stored with the Promoter's website provider, Wix, which may store data on servers located overseas. The Promoter's Privacy Policy explains how to access or correct your information and how to complain.

15. General

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. If any provision is unenforceable, it is severed and the remainder continues. This competition is a game of skill and is not a trade promotion lottery; no permit or authority is required in any Australian state or territory. This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with the Australian Football League.
